Bizjapan Changemakers Program 2018
– Bizjapan will hold “Bizjapan Changemakers Program 2018” in this February.-
We Bizjapan define the word “entrepreneurship” as the mind of finding out a problem, coming up with a solution to it, and putting it into practice.
This winter, we will hold a program named “Bizjapan Changemakers Program” where you can experience the essence of our “entrepreneurship.”
Bizjapan will hold “Bizjapan Changemakers Program 2018” in this February.
The theme of this year’s program is “Tokyo × Art”. Participants will look towards Tokyo from the perspective of art.
20 foreign students and 10 Japanese students will join this program.
Through this program, we will turn out entrepreneurs who can make an impact on the society.
Bizjapan holds an international conference annually of which the theme is “Global × Entreprenuership.”
Bizjapan defines the word “Entrepreneurship” as the ability of finding out problems, coming up with a solution, and carrying it out. When you try to find problems, it is significant to have an extraordinary perspective.
The theme of this year is “Tokyo × Art”.
You will think about a future city where people from diverse backgrounds coexist, and we believe that introducing the art perspective would be helpful. Plus, Tokyo can be a perfect lab for doing such experiment.
The fundamental issue we would like to address throughout the program is: representing a place that is chaotic but which fosters good relationship between different people. Even in the entire globe, you can hardly find a place as chaotic as Tokyo. Different cultures flourish, high and pop culture alike. In addition, there are many districts in Tokyo such as downtown business areas, old streets, and quiet residential districts. Nowadays, due to globalization, there are more and more occasions where people of different backgrounds live in the same place, and this is happening not just in Tokyo but many other cities as well. Given that context, you will ponder how could a place get the most out of its diverse residents, and will share your ideas with students from all around the world.
This program will be held for 7 days. The first half is the input part, where you will study about art and Tokyo. As for art, you will learn two things. One is the fun of expressing something by yourself and the other is the knowledge of how artists in the past have worked on expressing their ideas. Through these two experiences, you will have your own perspective and confidence toward art, even if you did not know anything about it before. As for Tokyo, you will get an idea of how diverse the city is through fieldwork. The second half is the output part, in which you will create your own artwork. You will do this by making use of what you have learned in the input part, as well as your original thoughts and personal background. On the last day, you will appreciate each other’s works and relativise your own perspective by thinking in other people’s shoes.
Relativising your perspective is important to identify real-life problems. Being able to think in multiple perspectives — this would be a vital experience for you.
We are looking for 20 foreign students including those studying abroad in Japan, and also 10 Japanese students.
We are looking forward to seeing you.

【Greeting from Project-leader】
Hi, I’m in charge of this program run by Bizjapan.
What do you want to do in the future? Starting a business, working in an international organization, or earning a research job? Regardless of your dream, this program aims to make you the next leader in your field of interest.
There are plenty of international students’ conferences around the world, but this program is different from them. In this program, we will focus on “Art” which you may not be familiar with. I am sure that knowing about different fields you’ve previously never thought of will broaden your mind as a leader. Moreover, various students from different countries who have the same ambition will participate in this program. It must be stimulating to discuss with students who you usually cannot meet. Maybe you can find your future business partner.
Why don’t you join this program and broaden your horizons? I’m looking forward for your participation.
